Whose Destiny is It Anyway? Karma and Reincarnation

Four Mondays: July 9, 16, 23, 30, 7:00-9:00pm

Why do bad things happen to good people? This workshop series exposes you to perennial questions and helps you understand your destiny from a new perspective. Learn steps to become more conscious of what is referred to as ‘fate.’ This shifts your perspective and gives you the impetus to reflect on your true purpose. Each class will involve videos, discussions, and meditation as you assess your own lifestyle. By journaling and meditation you can incorporate this understanding of your true purpose into your life.

Hatha Yoga and Meditation

Tuesday, July 10, 6:30-8:00pm

Join Neelam Akhand for gentle stretches, postures and poses to release tension and bring flexibility to your body. Neelam will combine various low impact postures to give you rewarding hour of yoga. Then you will then have an opportunity to practice Jyoti Meditation which connects our soul to inner Light. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing.

Spirituality and Science Partnership

How does science complement and enrich our understanding of spirituality? Scientists use telescopes to gaze at the stars in the heavens, while mystics sit in silence and gaze at the inner stars while meditating. The mystics say we are both seeking the same truths using different methods. Al Pomerantz will look at the parallels between science and the Sant Mat perspective using the human body as the scientific laboratory.

Vegetarian Cooking Demo: Mediterranean Pasta with Greek Salad

Wednesday, July 18, 7:30-8:30pm

Looking to add some meatless meals to your weekly menus? If so, this demo is for you! Mary Pomerantz, an enthusiastic cook and vegetarian for forty-three years, will show you how to put together an easy, delicious meal that will please everyone you serve it to. This demo features Mediterranean pasta with lots of veggies and flavored with garlic, herbs, olive oil and lemon juice. A simple to prepare Greek salad accompanies the pasta. Everyone will have the opportunity to sample the meal and the recipes will be distributed.

Finding Happiness in Challenging Times
